Assignment Three-'Walt Disney' Musical

This week we got given our roles which we are going to play in the musical which we are performing. The musical is going to be the story of Walt Disney and I have been allocated the role of his wife 'Lillian'. There is a young Walt and Lillian who play the first act and there is an older Walt and Lillian who play the second act; I am the younger Lillian so I will be performing in the first act. I do not really know how I am going to cope with the aspect of acting and singing in front of an audience as I do not feel very confident with this however, I am going to try my best to overcome my nerves and give the highest quality performance I can in order to get a distinction. The three songs which I will be singing solo's in are 'A Whole new World', 'The Circle of Life', and 'We are One'. This week we learnt 'A Circle of Life' and performed this with everyone as the ensemble are involved in this song during the chorus. At the beginning when we first started singing, I was very quiet because I was nervous as I have never sang in front of all my peers before so I needed to get used to it, however, towards the end of the lesson I became much louder and more comfortable with singing in front of everyone. I am hoping that I will be a lot more confident when it comes to the final performance and I think I will be because it is a while away so I just need to make sure I practise and rehearse as much as possible.
